Introduction Welcome to Shuri’s Lab, STEMCAT’s Summer 2025 program. Inspired by Shuri from the Black Panther universe, this program emphasizes innovation and ingenuity. From June 2nd to July 25th, 2025, this enriching summer camp integrates hands-on STEM learning with a focus on ecological awareness through weekly visits to the Urban Community Farm for Dr. Carver’s Lab activities.
Program Structure
- Dates: June 2nd – July 25th, 2025 (Closed the week of July 4th)
- Schedule: Weekly sessions from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 3 PM.
- Participants: 2 classes per week, each accommodating 10-15 students.
- Staff: 2 instructors per class, overseen by a program director.
- Locations: Activities at STEMCAT facilities and Urban Community Farm.

- Week 1: “Washington Carver Week” – Focus on Science
- Week 2: “Katherine Johnson Week” – Focus on Technology
- Week 3: “Lonnie Johnson Week” – Focus on Engineering
- Week 4: “Neil deGrasse Tyson Week” – Focus on Mechanics/Math
- Week 5: “Mae Jemison Week” – Integrated STEM Review
Daily Schedule
- 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM: Arrival and Introduction to Daily Topics
- 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Morning STEM Activities
- 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM: Lunch Break
- 12:45 PM – 2:45 PM: Afternoon Session at Dr. Carver’s Lab or continuation of morning activities
- 2:45 PM – 3:00 PM: Daily Recap and Dismissal
