WE START AT EIGHT, NOT EIGHTEEN.

The STEMCAT Difference

Pipeline to Paycheck

We start in third grade and stay until employment for generational and community success. Fifteen years, one system. Two impacts.

A Fieldhouse of Choice

This is not traditional vocational education. Employers from day one — and more than one door to walk through.

Building Forward What Matters

We measure employment, not graduation. When a student goes silent, we look at the blueprint — the fee, the ride, the form nobody was home to sign — and we rebuild it.

WHY EIGHT?

By the time most programs meet a young person, the decision has already been made.

Not at eighteen, or at graduation. Years earlier — quietly, and usually without anyone noticing — when a young person concludes they can only become what they see. Not engineering, not manufacturing, not aviation, not medicine. Not for lack of talent, but for lack of opportunity — and optimism fades. Nobody argues with them, because nobody knows they decided.

That is the moment STEMCAT exists to interrupt. We reach them at eight, before the door closes. We are still here at twenty-four for the ones who find us later. And we build until they reach employment for generational success.

The Blueprint

STEMCAT is the next generation of a workforce model, mentored early on by Bill Strickland, MacArthur Award-winning founder of Manchester Bidwell Corporation — but built for a different economy. Where that original model centered on the arts, STEMCAT is built around the industries defining Southwest Florida’s future and the nation’s: advanced manufacturing, aviation, semiconductors, healthcare technology, and agriculture.

What Bill Strickland proved — that dignity, beauty, and high expectations change what a person believes is possible — is the foundation everything here is built on. STEMCAT carries that forward and extends it in two ways: we begin in third grade, a decade before the decision gets made, and when a student does not finish, we do not record a dropout. We record what we failed to remove.

Southwest Florida is the epicenter of that build — the place where the model gets proven first, with real employers, real students, and real outcomes. Once proven here, the same system is designed to scale: first across Florida, then as a model other states can build from.

“Built here first. Built everywhere next.”

“Why STEMCAT had to exist.”

Every other program waits until someone is eighteen and already decided. We start at eight, and we stay fifteen years — until there is a job.

Launching the next generation into a future of choice.

Built Here

One System. Two Impacts. One Workforce Future

Southwest Florida cannot import its future workforce forever.

The region produced 7,996 completers of technology-aligned programs in one year and kept 2,100 of them. That is not a credential shortage. It is a conversion failure — and it is the gap BUILT HERE closes.

BUILT HERE develops that workforce locally, connecting youth and adults to real exposure, real skills, and real employment across six Industry 4.0 pathways: semiconductors and microelectronics, AI and data, advanced manufacturing and robotics, aviation and uncrewed systems, digital media and esports, and agriculture technology.

This is workforce infrastructure.

Southwest Florida is the proof site, not the ceiling — the same system is built to be adopted state by state, and then nationally.

Learn here. Train here. Work here. Lead here.

We start at eight, not eighteen.
