Urban Community Farm

A Third Place for Growth, Wellness, and Innovation

Welcome to the STEMCAT Urban Community Farm — a vibrant, third-place community hub where food, education, culture, and sustainability intersect. Rooted in four key pillars — Health & Wellness, Education, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Resilience — the farm is more than soil and crops. It’s where learning happens, families gather, and the future of food justice and innovation is grown from the ground up.

Preserve the Culture

Our cultural food education series brings the community together around the table — and the stove. From pickling and jam-making to guacamole and salsa classes, we explore food as a living expression of heritage and health. Programs include:

  • Community cooking workshops
  • Agricultural entrepreneurship opportunities
  • Health-conscious culinary demonstrations
  • Social events centered on food and connection

This space is where knowledge is passed down, cultures are celebrated, and new food traditions are born.

Food for All

Everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. Through our Food for All initiative, STEMCAT operates multiple programs to combat food insecurity:

  • Senior & Homebound Food Delivery Service
  • SNAP-Accessible Food Barn
  • Coming Soon: Digital Food Lockers for Humanity – refrigerated, self-serve lockers providing 24/7 access to produce for those in need.

Our goal is to increase food availability with dignity and innovation at the core.

Dr. Carver's Lab

Our farm is a living lab for sustainability and inclusive education. We offer:

  • Soul Fire-inspired environmental justice programming
  • Field trips for K–12 students
  • STEM-rich summer camps
  • Adaptive classes for individuals with special needs
  • Agriculture and food science courses

We grow knowledge alongside vegetables — with a commitment to equity and ecological stewardship.
